Dublin City Teens

Looking for things to do in Dublin with teens? From cool museums and outdoor adventures our Dublin City Teens guide rounds up the best activities to keep older kids and teenagers entertained.

Teen-approved and parent-tested! Teens can be notoriously hard to please and somehow permanently bored, making Dublin feel pint-sized when you’ve a restless one trailing behind. Deep breaths! The capital is secretly bursting with ways to impress even the most committed eye roller. Peer beneath the surface and you’ll uncover pulse raising adventures, immersive history, and mind bending science experiences that will fire up their curiosity (and yours). Below are our family’s favourite teen-approved days out. Each one road-tested by local parents and guaranteed to earn at least one “yeah that was actually pretty cool.”

This award-winning interactive museum dives into the stories of Irish people who shaped the world—from actors to inventors and outlaws. With zero dusty exhibits and plenty of immersive tech, EPIC makes history feel fresh and personal.

One of Dublin’s most sobering but essential stops. Teens can walk the echoing halls of this former prison and learn about the 1916 Rising and Ireland’s long road to independence. (Tip: Tickets must be booked in advance—this one sells out fast.)

A hilarious, high-energy land-and-water tour through Dublin with horned helmets and plenty of Viking roars. Yes, it’s cheesy—but your teen will secretly love it (especially the splash into the Grand Canal Dock).

It’s all about the bog bodies—thousands-of-years-old humans preserved in Irish peat bogs. A brilliant mix of creepy and fascinating, and free to enter.

A brilliant hands-on look at Viking and medieval Dublin. Teens can try on chainmail, learn about ancient surgery, and climb the tower for one of the city’s best views.

The Long Room Library looks straight out of Harry Potter and the Book of Kells is a visual feast. A great intro to Ireland’s scholarly legacy.

An adrenaline-pumping day of science experiments, climbing walls, VR experiences and a G-force bike. There’s even a weather room where teens can simulate a lightning strike!

Swing through treetops, tackle high ropes and whizz down ziplines in this thrilling outdoor forest park. Teens can take on the black course if they’re feeling brave.

Perfect for a rainy afternoon—two indoor mini golf courses set in a lush rainforest with sound effects and special lighting. No booking required!

Slides, wave pool, lazy river, and flumes—AquaZone is still one of the best waterparks in Ireland. Teens will love the adrenaline rides like the Dark Hole and Master Blaster.

Ireland’s largest stadium offers behind-the-scenes tours, plus a hair-raising skyline walk 17 storeys above the pitch. Definitely one for sporty teens.

See Dublin from the water with a guided kayak tour down the Liffey. Evening sessions include glowing lights and live music under the bridges—magical.

Crack codes, solve puzzles and beat the clock in themed rooms like Cabin in the Woods or The Sherlock Files. A great rainy-day team activity.

While obviously not for the beer, teens love the interactive exhibits, glass atrium and the panoramic views from the Gravity Bar. Under 18s go half price.

One of the largest indoor climbing centres in Europe. First-timers welcome and there are challenges for every skill level.

Just outside Dublin, Emerald Park has rollercoasters, zip lines, animals and splash zones. It’s a full day out and well worth the drive—teens love The Cú Chulainn Coaster.
